Wastewater Plant Operator -- Now Hiring!
The City of Defiance is seeking a motivated, dependable individual to join our team as a Wastewater Plant Operator. This is an exciting opportunity to build a long-term career in a high-impact public service role that helps protect our community's environment and water quality.
About the Role
As a Wastewater Plant Operator I, you will play a key role in the daily operation and performance of the City's wastewater treatment system. You'll work with a supportive team and gain valuable hands-on experience in a specialized, in-demand field.
What You'll Do
- Perform daily operational tasks within the wastewater treatment facility
- Collect and analyze samples to ensure system performance
- Monitor system meters and record operational data
- Inspect, adjust, and maintain equipment
- Assist with routine grounds and facility maintenance
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and contributing to the health and safety of the community.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid State of Ohio driver's license
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, first-shift position starting at $23.13 per hour. The City of Defiance offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
