Description We are looking for a skilled Collections Specialist to join our team in Decatur, Alabama. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a key part in managing and optimizing credit and collections processes for commercial and consumer accounts. Responsibilities:
• Handle commercial and consumer account collections with accuracy and professionalism.
• Monitor outstanding balances and ensure timely follow-ups to secure payments.
• Develop effective strategies to minimize overdue accounts and improve cash flow.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations to verify and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless billing and credit processes.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze data and create reports related to collections.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and relevant regulations in all collection activities.
• Communicate effectively with clients to resolve payment issues while maintaining positive relationships.
• Participate in the development and implementation of improved collection processes.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and up-to-date for all credit and collection activities. Requirements • Proven experience in commercial and consumer collections.
• Strong knowledge of credit and billing collection processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Familiarity with compliance standards and regulatory requirements related to collections.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Previous experience working in the environmental industry is a plus.
