Pine Creek Logging CDL Lowboy Truck Driver in Deary, Idaho

Primary Function:

The Lowboy Truck Driver is responsible for operating a truck & trailer for transportation of logging / construction equipment. In this position, the driver will load equipment onto trailers and transport to various logging sites. This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of equipment/trucks. The driver will also be required to work manual labor, perform maintenance on equipment and work with a crew as necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to read and understand all permit routes and provisions.
  • Transport oversize, overweight equipment and construction materials safely and timely.
  • Be able to plan routes to meet delivery schedules.
  • Ability to drive through all weather, road and traffic conditions.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Must be available to work varied shifts and schedules.
  • Willingness to drive dump trucks or belly dump trucks.
  • Perform daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines and company policies.
  • Maintain daily vehicle mileage logs.
  • Monitor various gauges during operation of vehicle.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment.
  • Must keep truck in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Working in all types of weather conditions and in all types of environmental conditions and on forest/logging roads.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a valid Class A CDL drivers license with a clean record.
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Ability to pass drug, alcohol & background screening as required by DOT.
  • Language skills to communicate clearly and effectively.

  • Good attendance and on time is amust.
  • Required to perform tasks that include heavy lifting, climbing, balancing, stooping kneeling, crouching, crawling and reaching.
  • Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.
