Ford Motor Company Supervisor, Requirement Delivery in Dearborn, Michigan

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead to join our Global FWD Model Quality Design Assurance team. In this critical supervisory role, you will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and developing a global team focused on ensuring robust delivery of evidence for regulatory compliance across all vehicle programs.

In This Role…

You will oversee the Compliance Design Review (CDR) process, ensuring timely and accurate submissions, identifying systemic errors, and driving continuous improvement. This role requires seamless collaboration with engineering teams and subject-matter experts to maintain GPDS milestone standards, deliver ongoing training to improve compliance reports, and manage key performance indicators for CDR delivery and Design Assurance metrics. You will also coordinate internal vehicle audits and provide essential updates to leadership.

What You’ll Do…

  • Lead the Global FWD Model Quality Design Assurance team to meet CDR review priorities, timing targets, and accuracy/completeness checks. Identify systemic CDR error states and drive improvement actions.

  • Coach and guide local Product Development (PD) engineering teams on CDR delivery to support program requirements and maintain GPDS milestone standards.

  • Deliver ongoing training to core functional areas, technical specialists, and Hardware/Software/Features Engineering teams to foster a strong safety and compliance culture.

  • Collaborate with Automotive Safety Office (ASO) and core PD Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure regulatory requirements are met.

  • Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for CDR delivery and Design Assurance metrics.

  • Manage and enhance the CDR quality dashboard and its underlying data mining process.

  • Provide weekly Design Assurance updates within the VH&C PMM.

  • Present quarterly CDR metrics to functional teams at the VHE VP Business Plan Review (BPR).

  • Monitor CDR review progress, manage program timing and milestone deliverables, and communicate assessments of questionable or missing information to ASO SMEs, technical specialists, and engineers.

  • Partner with Automotive Safety Office Embedded Functional Experts on systemic CDR error states.

  • Lead the coordination of NHTSA internal vehicle audits as requested by the Automotive Safety Office, including vehicle ordering, test plan execution with the VEV test planner, attending all testing, and maintaining test reports. Communicate progress and results to PD functional teams and Engineering Excellence.

  • Support vehicle Fresh Eye Reviews as required.

  • Travel up to 5%

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical/engineering field.

  • 5 or more years of related experience.

  • Knowledge of Regulatory Compliance or Automotive Safety Office.

  • Proven experience in analyzing technical data to assess risk, track program metrics, and inform engineering or business decisions, coupled with an analytical mindset and strong numerical skills.

  • Process-disciplined approach with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including relationship building and conflict resolution.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for tracking deliverables, creating reports, and presenting complex information to leadership.

  • A strong understanding of Ford’s processes, including technology development, product development, design validation/verification, vehicle operations, and potential defect investigations.

  • 7 or more years of related experience.

  • Demonstrated global team leadership and supervision skills.

  • Experience with AI tools and building dashboards in Power BI.

  • Ability to strategically collaborate cross-functionally to implement transformative process improvements.

  • Strong decision-making skills and the resolve to escalate issues appropriately and in a timely manner.

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $112,680-212,760.

This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
