Employees in this job function are Full-Stack Software Engineers responsible for the development and maintenance of the end-to-end application lifecycle, including frontend interfaces, APIs, and backend business logic. This role is designed for versatility; while the technical landscape is broad, the specific focus of the work is fluid. Depending on product requirements and team priorities, engineers may have more of a frontend or backend bias at any given time. You will work within a cloud-native environment, leveraging modern AI/LLM tools to enhance development workflows and maintain a high-frequency release cadence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand use-cases and translate requirements into scalable, full-stack technical solutions.

  • Design, develop, and deliver robust end-to-end features, utilizing Java/Spring Boot and Node.js/TypeScript for backend services and React for frontend engineering.

  • Adapt to shifting project needs, maintaining a flexible mindset as the role’s bias moves between server-side architecture and client-side implementation based on current priorities.

  • Leverage AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to optimize development workflows, accelerate code generation, and improve overall team productivity across the entire stack.

  • Utilize and integrate with application data storage (Postgres) to support business logic and API requirements.

  • Architect for the Cloud, deploying and managing services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) while ensuring high availability and performance.

  • Champion Quality through TDD/BDD, utilizing tools like Cucumber and Playwright to ensure comprehensive test coverage for both APIs and user interfaces.

  • Maintain CI/CD Pipelines using GitHub Actions or Tekton to automate deployments and maintain a high-frequency release cadence.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field OR a combination of education and equivalent experience

5+ years of understanding, practicing, and advocating for clean code principles such as test-driven development (TDD), self-documenting code, continuous refactoring, and Extreme Programming (XP)

7+ years of experience and proficiency in front-end languages such as JavaScript/Typescript, and a familiarity with other languages such as Java

7+ years of practical, meaningful experience with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, VueJs

7+ years of of practical, meaningful experience with backend framework like Nest.js, GoLang Api development and Spring boot

Enthusiastic about AI Driven coding with the help of tools like Github Co-Pilot, Cursor AI or Windsurf

Strong understanding of Fullstack architecture principals

Working knowledge of CICD with popular tools like Jenkins, Tekton, Github Actions etc

Strong understanding of any public cloud provider like GCP, AWS or Azure

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field OR a combination of education and equivalent experience

Experience with web and mobile accessibility standards (WCAG compliance), tools, and testing (e.g. screen-readers, axe, user interviews)

Experience with Behavior Driven Development

Mechanical and engineering empathy

A desire to collaborate closely with UI/UX designers

Self Starter and have keen interest of problem solving

Have skillset of leading a team and bringing along the junior engineers

This position is a salary grade 7-8 and ranges from $84,480-$162,120.

This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
