In this position...
We are looking for a leader that will use your technical expertise to shape the future of interior lighting at Ford Motor Company. The Interior Lighting Core & Application Supervisor will manage teams to design/develop all the interior lighting commodities and work with our Ford peers integrating these into other interior released commodities (seats, instrument panels, center consoles, hard trim, soft trim, headliners, etc.). You will also lead the development of requirements, design rules, optical CAE and best practices following strong FMA principles within your core team. Your team will be responsible for the full design process from concept to manufacturing execution on all Ford/Lincoln vehicles globally.
What you'll do...
Lead the design, development, validation, and release of interior lighting systems, subsystems, and components (including ambient lighting, functional lighting and overhead consoles) globally, with an emphasis on in-house designs.
Lead the development of core documentation, design rules, requirements and best practices globally for all interior lighting commodities.
Develop data-driven decision tools, including matrices and report summaries, to facilitate strategic alignment with program teams and our interior management.
Translate customer, regulatory, and product requirements into engineering targets.
Monitor suppliers and analyze customer feedback through Ford's systems.
Support suppliers and assembly departments with current production quality and manufacturing issues.
You'll have...
B.S. Engineering – Electrical, Mechanical or similar.
10+ years of validation and release of lighting systems, subsystems and components.
2+ years leading an engineering or product development team with proven delivery.
Even better, you may have...
Knowledge of CATIA/Teamcenter or other CAD/PLM packages.
Knowledge of analytical tools (CAE/Moldflow) and optical development (SPEOS/Lucidshape).
Experience with complex systems, injection molding, and secondary tooling.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Self-driven, highly motivated, and receptive to challenging assignments.
Experience with PCBA design, LED technologies, active/passive components and the manufacturing of these using SMT equipment.
Experience with plastic injection molding process, tooling & gauging.

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $112,680-212,760.

This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
