Ford Motor Company Engineering Product Manager in Dearborn, Michigan

We made history and now we work to transform the future – for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.

In this position...

Ford’s Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team is charged with delivering the company’s vision of a fully electric transportation future. EVDD is customer obsessed, entrepreneurial, and data driven and is dedicated to delivering industry leading customer experiences for electric vehicle buyers and owners. You’ll join an agile team of doers pioneering our EV future by working collaboratively, staying focused on what matters most, and delivering excellence day in and day out.

This role sits in the Business Applications and Ecosystem Services (BA&ES), part of the Vehicle Cloud and Mobile organization. BA&ES designs, builds, and operates the core applications and ecosystem capabilities that underpin many of Ford’s digital experiences. We deliver innovative, trusted global solutions that other teams rely on, shipping small, incremental changes while maintaining high standards for quality, security, and reliability.

In this position, you will be responsible for the day to day running of an engineering team, ensuring there is clear direction, well defined work, and strong alignment between product intent and technical execution. As an Engineering Product Manager, you will work closely with engineers, engineering managers, and other partners to translate outcomes into actionable plans, support effective delivery, and continuously improve how value is delivered to customers and internal consumers.

What you'll do...

Own the day to day product delivery for a team, ensuring work is clearly defined, prioritized, and aligned with agreed outcomes.

Collaborate closely with software engineers, engineering managers, and technical leaders to shape backlog items that are technically sound, well scoped, and ready for delivery.

Translate customer, business, and platform needs into clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that support incremental delivery.

Maintain and evolve the team backlog, balancing new work, technical improvements, operational needs, and delivery commitments.

Partner with engineering to plan and sequence work effectively, managing dependencies and trade offs while maintaining a sustainable delivery pace.

Actively participate in team ceremonies and ways of working, supporting a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Communicate progress, risks, and changes clearly to stakeholders, ensuring shared understanding and alignment.

Use data, feedback, and learning from delivery to refine priorities and improve outcomes over time.

Work with other product and delivery partners to ensure alignment across teams and reduce friction at boundaries.

You'll have...

Bachelors in Computer Science or related field of study and professional experience.

5+ years of professional experience in a technical product management or delivery focused role working closely with software engineering teams.

Strong experience working with software engineers on complex, technical products or digital capabilities.

Demonstrated ability to break down complex problems into well defined, deliverable units of work.

Solid technical understanding of modern software systems, enabling effective collaboration and trade off discussions with engineers.

Experience working in agile, iterative delivery environments with a focus on incremental value and fast feedback.

Even better, you may have...

Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage competing demands and changing priorities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and stakeholder groups.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder…or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:

• Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage

• Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more

• Family building benefits including adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, fertility treatments, and more

• Vehicle discount program for employees and family members and management leases

• Tuition assistance

• Established and active employee resource groups

• Paid time off for individual and team community service

• A generous schedule of paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day

• Paid time off and the option to purchase additional vacation time.
