This Buyer position will be responsible for purchasing construction project services to support Ford’s vehicle production facilities as well as Ford Energy. The position is in Dearborn, Michigan, at the Product Development Center (PDC). The candidate can expect to interact with supplier (contractor) contacts within Michigan as well as across the U.S. The candidate will also interact with internal Ford personnel in North America, including Ford Land (including Finance), OGC and Manufacturing (Battery Manufacturing Engineering, BME), amongst other stakeholders.

What you'll do...
Commodities: Construction project services.
Current turnover $50-500M; future turnover dependent on future project activity.
Lead process to source business, utilizing GCST/ISF as required, on time and satisfy project timing requirements.
Work cross functionally with Ford Land and OGC to develop the appropriate construction contract to fit the desired construction delivery model and risk profile.
Compile project cost data into AI/data analytics tools in effort to gain a deeper understanding of physical makeup of supplier costs, cost gaps, and benchmarking.
Drive data transparency from the supply base to support fact-based negotiations to deliver section cost targets (i.e. reductions to eliminate cost gaps and meet department section/department objectives).
Issue Ariba Purchase Orders for sourcing actions and project changes as required.
Establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders (Ford Land, Manufacturing, Finance, 3rd party estimating support, OGC, etc.) and external stakeholders (contractors) to understand commercial positions, their needs and needs of the programs.
Act as a leader and assist others within the group as necessary This position is open from SG7-SG8 REQUIRED:* 3+ years of Purchasing policy, GT&C’s and process knowledge with Purchasing tools and systems.
