We are seeking a diligent, detail-driven project management professional to support our Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Feature & Software development activities. This involves applying Technical Program Management principles and analytical techniques in support of delivering features and experiences to vehicles to surpass our customers’ expectations.
What you'll do...
Partner with key stakeholders to define, scope, prioritize, and deliver major ADAS software initiatives that span multiple teams and multiple organizations across Ford.
Understand the needs of stakeholders across the product development organization
Apply technical project planning, management, and leadership for the development and delivery of ADAS Software (hand coded or MBD-based)
Apply technical project planning, management, and leadership for the development and delivery of software tooling and/or support software to advance ADAS product development
Implement and execute roadmaps, schedules, project plans, and resourcing plans to enable ADAS to meet commitments to our customers
Lead team members on modern, world-class, software development practices, driving precise execution of technical plans (including management of milestone progress, dependency tracking, risk management, and risk mitigation)
Interface with and lead cross functional teams – Systems, Software, Feature, Suppliers, V&V, Quality and others to drive development plans, ensuring on time SW delivery with an emphasis on quality.
Partner with technical development leaders to deliver high value content with velocity
Leverage your technical knowledge and interpersonal communication skills to support efficient resolution of technical, timing or delivery issues
Elevate the visibility of the team – provide regular “push” updates through wiki, Jira, Teams, email, and other communication mediums
Communicate and present project status to a broad stakeholder and leadership community
Efficiently utilize work management tools – Wiki, JIRA, Project Management Tools – to communicate status and project plans with leadership
Proactively identify and manage project risks, developing mitigations and/or recovery plans to protect the overall program delivery
You'll have...
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or one of Computer, Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Robotics or Controls Engineering or a related field.
5+ years’ experience in one or combination of program management, engineering management, engineering supervisory role or a technical team leadership role
5+ years’ experience using standard project management tools such as MS Project, Planaris, Smartsheet or other equivalent tools
2+ years’ experience of usage of JIRA work management tools or equivalent for product development and delivery
5+ years of experience in product development for either automotive or similar high volume/high reliability markets
Very strong business English communication skills (verbal and written)
Strong presentation skills with ability to tailor material and presentation style to varied audiences (Executive to working level, strategy to technical)

Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Aerospace, Robotics or Controls Engineering or related fields.
10+ years’ experience in ADAS or Similar Domain Feature Program Management, Engineering Management or technical leadership roles in a feature software delivery discipline within the automotive domain.
Business or Program Management experience leading teams to deliver product from early development through product launch.
Demonstrated experience in the application of standard program management concepts and tools (Examples: PMBOK, Critical Chain, Critical Path, Theory of Constraints, Earned Value, Agile, Kanban, Lean, Prince, SAFe etc.)
Conflict management and negotiation skills.
Background in embedded software development, vehicle or software validation
Practitioner level understanding of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (L2-L4)
Background in systems, hardware, sensor or feature delivery in the automotive industry, whether at OEM or Tier 1-3 supplier.
Experience leading cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines (engineering, product, design, testing, quality, etc.) throughout the entire product lifecycle
Expert knowledge of Agile development methods and application
Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle methodology
Mastery of technical plan development (task identification, task breakdown, timing) for consumption at multiple leadership levels of the organization
Practitioner level experience using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, etc) and GitHub source code management tool
Practitioner level experience using Confluence to develop/maintain rich content wiki pages
Proven ability to communicate clearly to stakeholders at various levels of the organization (written and verbal)

This position is a salary grade 7-8 and ranges from $84,480- $162,120.
