Job Summary:
PECNA is looking to fill the position of Facilities Operations Lead Technician - Level 6. As a key member of the facilities operations team, you will leverage your technical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and enhance critical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong technical skills, and a commitment to excellence in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Essential Duties:
Functional Operations:
Operate and monitor SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, including life support and facility control systems
Manage electrical supply and distribution from yard to room level, ensuring safe and efficient operations
Oversee water systems (DI, RO, and Industrial) and related supplies, including boiler monitoring and preventive maintenance
Supervise chemical supply and refining processes, maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations
Manage air-making and supply systems to sustain optimal performance and system reliability
Oversee wastewater treatment processes and ensure compliance with environmental and discharge standards
Supervise HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems to ensure consistent operation and comfort control
Document labor hours, maintenance tasks, and equipment performance in CMMS
Performance Optimization & Continuous Improvement:
Perform troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems to maintain operational reliability and efficiency
Analyze equipment performance trends and recommend corrective or preventive maintenance strategies
Review and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and work orders to execute repairs and maintenance with precision
Draft, review, and implement Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOP) and Job Safety Analyses (JSA) to enhance reliability and safety outcomes
Support ongoing process improvement initiatives, optimizing maintenance practices and minimizing downtime
Training & Team Support:
Demonstrate intermediate-to-advanced knowledge and ability with electrical and mechanical systems, including but not limited to:o Compressed Airo Electrical and High-Pressure Compressed Airo Exhausto Dry Airo Dust Collectiono Process Vacuumo Nitrogeno Deionized Watero Process Cooling Watero Hot Reverse Osmosis Watero NMP and Electrolyte
Show proficiency across multiple trades such as Electrical, Plumbing, Pipefitting, Boiler Making, or HVAC
Skillfully use handheld measuring devices to obtain readings for dew point, temperature, humidity, air flow, ampacity, pressure, and particulates
Train, coach, and mentor newer or less experienced technicians to build team capability
Enforce safety and procedural compliance while promoting teamwork, accountability, and performance excellence
Serve as the main point of contact for escalated technical issues and assist in coordinating with supervisors or cross-functional teams
Note: This role does not have direct authority to hire, transfer, suspend, promote, or discipline employees
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication:
Respond promptly to site emergencies, coordinating actions with internal maintenance, engineering, and local authorities
Communicate effectively with customers, management, and supporting departments to provide timely updates and resolve issues
Compile and deliver accurate Daily Shift Reports summarizing site issues, maintenance activities, and operational concerns
Collaborate with engineers, vendors, and contractors to ensure technical standards, schedules, and safety expectations are met
Quality, Safety, & Compliance:
Ensure all maintenance and operational activities comply with OSHA, EPA, and internal environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies
Maintain detailed logs, reports, and CMMS entries to support audits, inspections, and process traceability
Operate and maintain tools, systems, and equipment in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications
Uphold 6S and cleanliness standards to ensure a safe and organized work environment
Participate in safety meetings, risk assessments, and corrective action implementation to support a culture of continuous safety improvement
Maintain flexibility to work all scheduled shift hours and respond to urgent site needs when required

Education, Certifications, and Licenses:
Required :
- High school diploma, GED, or 2 years of prior experience in functional area
Preferred :
Related Trade school/vocational graduate; 2 years of trade school or equivalent
PIT License
State Issued Driver’s License
CDL
Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP)
NFPA 70E or NFPA 70B Certification
OSHA 30 Certification
HAZWOPER 8 or 40 Certification
Essential Qualifications:
5+ years of related work experience
Intermediate knowledge and work experience in Utility Generation and Distribution (e.g., steam, water, air), Mechanical (e.g., HVAC, piping/plumbing, pneumatic) or Electrical (e.g., low, or medium voltage, instrumentation, controls) systems in an industrial manufacturing facility environment
Effective oral and written communication skills and willingness to work on a team
Flexibility and a strong self-initiative are critical
Electrical Safety in the Workplace
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English

Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of related work experience
Experience in mechanical engineering or construction management
Experience using scheduling or maintenance management software
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
- To ensure health and safety in the workplace and for employee protection, wearing PPE is required and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. A respirator fit test will be required based on functional area.
