Jones Sign Sign Service and Repair Technician in De Pere, Wisconsin
Job Summary:
As a Sign Service Technician, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining and repairing a wide range of signage elements across the State of Wisconsin. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in diverse environments. You’ll ensure that signs remain operational and visually appealing, often working at heights and in varying weather conditions. Comfort with occasional overnight travel and a commitment to safety and quality are essential.
This position is based out of our De Pere, WI facility.
Duties and Expectations:
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with illuminated and non-illuminated signage, including electrical and structural components.
Perform maintenance and repairs on various types of signage (monuments, pylons, cabinets, channel letters, etc.).
Replace or repair lighting systems, ballasts, LED modules, and wiring as needed.
Conduct routine inspections to ensure signs meet safety and quality standards.
Operate bucket trucks, cranes, and lifts to access elevated signage safely.
Travel to and from job sites; some assignments may require overnight stays.
Complete service tasks independently and efficiently without direct supervision.
Maintain accurate service records and communicate findings to supervisors and clients.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards at all times.
Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally on-site.
Ability to work in varying weather conditions and at heights exceeding 100 feet.
Assist with emergency service calls when required.
Collaborate with team members for complex repairs or installations.
Education, Experience, and Skills:
Previous sign service experience is preferred.
CDL license is required.
Crane Certification is preferred (must be willing to obtain if needed).
Knowledge of basic electrical practices and troubleshooting.
Ability to work at heights exceeding 100 feet.
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently without direct supervision.
Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate in a team environment.
Good communication skills and customer service mindset.
Willingness to work overtime and stay until the job is complete.
Enjoys travel and performing diverse tasks daily.
