Phlebotomist
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm
Department: Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service
Overview
We are seeking experienced Phlebotomists to support our Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service during the implementation of the EHRM system. This position requires strong technical skill, excellent patient care, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
Specimen Collection & Patient Interaction
Accurately identify patients prior to specimen collection.
Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures.
Collect specimens in the correct tubes, following the proper order of draw.
Ensure specimens have adequate volume, are not clotted, and show minimal hemolysis.
Recognize and immediately report adverse reactions to venipuncture to appropriate personnel.
Specimen Processing & Laboratory Support
Process laboratory specimens, including aliquoting, storage, and preparing samples for transport.
Follow all DOT and OSHA guidelines during specimen handling and transport preparation.
Perform computer-based tasks including accessioning, data entry, and other laboratory-related system functions.
Required Experience
1-2 years of experience performing phlebotomy and specimen collection in a clinical laboratory, medical center, or hospital setting.
Experience with accessioning and specimen preparation.
Preferred Skills
Phlebotomy Certification (NPA, ASPT, ASCP, or equivalent)
Experience working with diverse hospital patient populations, including elderly patients.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

This is a Contract position based out of Dayton, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.22 - $19.22/hr.
