Job Title: Concrete Finisher FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Foreman
Position Summary
The Concrete Finisher is responsible for shaping and finishing poured concrete on a variety of job sites, ensuring each project reflects our commitment to excellence.
Core Responsibilities
- Must have mastered all responsibilities and competencies of a Concrete Laborer
- Read and interpret basic blueprints
- Use forms to shape and contain concrete to specified levels and finishes
- Spread, level, and smooth concrete using floats, screeds, trowels, and other tools
- Place and finish surfaces including broom, trowel, or decorative finishes
- Mount fixtures (anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills) into freshly poured concrete
- Monitor drying time and weather conditions to ensure proper curing
- Apply curing, sealing, or hardening compounds to concrete surfaces
- Grind, chip, and repair existing concrete as needed
- Clean tools and jobsite areas after completing tasks
- Assist in building and dismantling forms
- Waterproof or restore surfaces as required
- Collaborate with the crew to move the project forward with quality and efficiency
- Follow all safety protocols and report any hazards to the Foreman / Foreman Lead

Required Skills and Competencies
- Regular attendance and punctuality are required
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions
- Solid understanding of concrete trade practices and tools
- Ability to identify next steps in the forming and finishing process without direction
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to float between tasks and adjust to changing priorities
- Able to maintain focus on quality and precision under time pressure
Strong communication and collaboration with crew members and supervisors
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in concrete construction or general labor roles
- Ability to run floating and finishing tools
Knowledge of form material types and placement processes
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, bend, climb, stretch, and work outdoors in all weather
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
