Dayton Children's Hospital Behavioral Health Supervisor - Juvenile Courts in Dayton, Ohio

Facility:Behavioral Health Center - Dayton 1st StreetDepartment:Mental Health Outpatient Therapy ServicesSchedule:Full timeHours:40Job Details:Under the direction of the Director of Outpatient Mental Health, the Behavioral Health Supervisor is responsible for direct patient care as well as clinical and administrative support of the Dayton Children’s Mental Health Team at the Montgomery County Juvenile Court. Clinically, the supervisor provides behavioral health services including diagnostic assessments, individual and group therapy, and crisis intervention as needed. Responsible for collaborating with patients and families in developing an individualized treatment plan that will specifically address identified areas of concern. Responsible for collaborating with the Montgomery County Juvenile Court and other community partners to provide services and link court-involved youth with mental health care. Responsible for assisting patients and their families in understanding ways to effectively manage symptoms and behaviors attributed to the identified behavioral health diagnosis (es). Assists families in effectively addressing complex personal and environmental difficulties which interfere with effective social functioning. Responsible for the delivery of clinical services which are available to the patient, the patient’s family, and other persons significant to the patient. Is able to work independently, is well organized, and identifies opportunities to work collaboratively with other units/departments within the hospital. Participates as a professional member of the interdisciplinary team and community agencies. Provides education/ consultation to health care professionals and the community regarding the impact of psychosocial factors.

Administratively, the Supervisor will assist the Director of Outpatient Mental Health as a clinical and administrative support to the Mental Health team. They are responsible for the screening and orienting/training of new personnel. They will monitor ongoing clinical delivery, adherence to documentation and other regulatory standards, and assist with ongoing education. The Supervisor works to support the Director in the planning, organizing, developing, and implementing of clinical services to patients, ensuring that services are delivered in a patient-focused manner based upon the best practices of care for children and youth in a behavioral health setting. They assist with maintaining daily operations, including clinic schedules, interviews, and evaluations.

Department Specific Job Details:

Education:

Master’s degree in social work or counseling required

Certifications:

LISW or LPCC required

Current license in Ohio - Counselor, social work, or marriage and family therapist board required.

Experience (required):

Post-Master’s experience in a mental health treatment or healthcare setting

Exceptional verbal and written communication and clinical skills, including competency in diagnosis and treatment

Works both independently and part of a team

Schedule:

full time, 40 hours

Monday - Friday, day shift
