TEKsystems IT Project Portfolio Manager in Davidson, North Carolina
We are seeking an experienced Engineering IT Portfolio / Project Manager to join our Engineering Applications Management team. This role is focused on ensuring engineering teams have the right applications, tools, and processes to successfully design and deliver high‑quality HVAC‑R products.
This is a true portfolio and project management role, ideal for someone with hands‑on experience managing multiple Engineering IT initiatives within a structured demand management framework. You will help create clarity, prioritization, and governance across a continuous flow of engineering technology requests that often compete for resources and attention.
A strong understanding of the product development application ecosystem is essential. While you do not need to be an engineer, you must understand how PLM, CAD, and CAE tools support the product development lifecycle in order to partner effectively with engineering teams and enable leadership to make informed, data‑driven portfolio decisions.
What You’ll Be Doing
Own demand intake, prioritization, and portfolio governance for Engineering IT initiatives
Partner with engineering teams to support and optimize PLM, CAD, and CAE applications
Plan, execute, track, and report on multiple projects across the engineering applications portfolio
Provide clear, concise status reporting and insights to stakeholders and executive leadership
Facilitate trade‑off discussions and help leadership align priorities to capacity and business goals
Apply Agile and hybrid delivery approaches to manage work effectively
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience managing projects and portfolios in an Engineering or Engineering IT environment
Hands‑on experience working within, or helping establish, a demand management and project intake framework
Strong working knowledge of the PLM / CAD / CAE application landscape
Ability to prioritize work, manage competing demands, and guide data‑driven decision‑making
Confidence presenting portfolio status, risks, and recommendations to and executive leaders
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills
