Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is central to Amazon's commitment to innovation. As a Senior RME Technician, you'll help us stay one step ahead, adopting the latest technologies and identifying new and efficient ways of working. In this role, you’ll pay close attention to our processes to help maintain our high standards, and you’ll put in place upgrades to take that standard even higher.

Key job responsibilities

  • Demonstrate best practice on using equipment safely and monitor teams to ensure everyone follows the correct processes

  • Keep track of equipment performance through visual checks, condition-based monitoring, and preventative maintenance tasks and schedule additional servicing when required

  • Supervise technicians on shift to support their development and act as the first point of contact for Reliability Maintenance Engineers

  • Solve issues in equipment to reduce downtime for operations so they can process packages as quickly as possible

  • Support in finding ways to continually improve systems and standardise processes across the EU network

A day in the life

As a Senior RME Technician at BHX10, you’ll lead a team ensuring our Merch on Demand production equipment—such as Kornit printers, fixation systems and heat presses—runs safely and reliably. You’ll coordinate preventative maintenance, support rapid troubleshooting and ensure compliance with safety procedures including LOTO, risk assessments and VSOPs. Using operational data and system monitoring tools, you’ll identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, quality and efficiency. Working closely with operations and your RME Manager, you’ll help implement improvements across the site. This role operates on shift patterns, including nights and weekends, with strong opportunities for progression within Amazon RME.

About the team

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team keeps the equipment at BHX10 performing at its best. We’re a technically skilled team of engineers and technicians who work together to maintain, troubleshoot and repair the specialised production equipment that powers Amazon’s Merch on Demand business.

From DTG printers and fixation systems to heat presses and supporting automation, we ensure our equipment operates safely, reliably and efficiently. The team also plays a key role in maintaining site compliance and implementing improvements that increase uptime and performance.

Our focus is reducing downtime so customers receive high-quality products on time. Working across shift patterns, we continuously identify opportunities to improve processes, introduce new technology and drive innovation across the network.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in electrical or mechanical engineering

  • Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal

  • A full Engineering indentured Apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject

  • Relevant experience in a technical leadership role

  • Relevant experience in automation or material handling equipment environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a multi-contractor and multi-site working environment

  • Understanding of PLC based controls systems and statutory compliance requirements

  • Experience using computerised maintenance management systems to plan proactive maintenance and record reactive tasks

  • A degree preferably in a technical discipline or operations
