Job Description
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating an industrial forklift and reach truck to support daily material‑handling operations. This role plays a key part in receiving, storing, supplying, and shipping materials while maintaining accuracy, safety, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other powered industrial trucks (PIT) to move materials to and from production lines, storage locations, loading docks, and trucks.
Review production schedules and shipping orders to identify, verify, and deliver required raw materials, components, and finished goods.
Understand equipment load capacities and deliver materials according to production timing and workflow requirements.
Secure loads using protective materials, strapping, and other safety equipment; remove packaging upon delivery and dispose of waste safely.
Follow all company safety policies, including people safety and food safety procedures.
Immediately report any material quality issues, equipment concerns, or transportation problems to a supervisor.
Perform SAP transactions including inventory adjustments, material movements, and tag printing.
Conduct physical inventory counts and properly label materials with SAP‑generated tags.
Support production lines as needed to maintain smooth operations.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, and related logistics equipment.
Experience with High Lift, Stand‑Up, Sit‑Down, Walkies, and Walkie Rider PIT equipment.
Proficiency with RF scan guns for tracking and material identification.
Basic working knowledge of SAP or similar inventory management systems.
Ability to maneuver PIT equipment safely in tight, congested areas.
Solid math, reading, and communication skills.
Experience in forklift operation, pallet jack use, loading/unloading, order picking, and shipping/receiving environments.
Work Environment
Work takes place in both manufacturing and warehouse settings and may involve:
Standing or walking for the full shift
Frequent bending, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
Carrying up to 50 lbs
Working in temperature‑controlled or non‑temperature‑controlled environments, including extreme heat or cold
Exposure to moderate noise levels and occasional wet conditions
Maintaining strong situational awareness for personnel and equipment safety

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Davenport, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
