Now Hiring: Veterinary Rehabilitation Technician
Maritime Veterinary Emergency + Specialty Centre is seeking a Certified Veterinary Rehabilitation professional to join our growing Rehabilitation team! We welcome applications from experienced candidates as well as those currently completing certification (CCRT, CCRA, CCRP, or CCAT).
Compensation:
$29–$34/hour, commensurate with experience and skill level
Anticipated Schedule:
36 hours per week; some evening and weekend shifts may be required based on hospital needs

Rehabilitation Services We Offer
Our comprehensive rehabilitation program includes:
Land and underwater treadmill therapy (DOGTREAD and Hudson Aquapaws SS)
Laser therapy (two SpectraVet Class 3B lasers)
Radial shockwave therapy
Massage therapy
Therapeutic heat and cryotherapy
Electrical stimulation (TENS/NMES)
Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy
Assistive devices (harnesses, braces, carts)
Therapeutic exercise programs, including customized home programs
Acupuncture and electro-acupuncture
Chiropractic care
Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) herbal therapy
We work closely with our Board-Certified Neurologist and Surgeon, as well as receive direct referrals from the broader veterinary community, to provide exceptional, collaborative patient care.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience working as a rehabilitation practitioner (preferred)
Certification or enrollment in a rehabilitation program (CCRT, CCRA, CCRP, CCAT) will be considered.
Experience with:
Underwater treadmill therapy
Massage and stretching techniques
Class 3B or Class 4 laser therapy
NMES/TENS
Therapeutic exercise programs
Strong working knowledge of anatomy, including bony structures and musculature
Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills
Ability to multitask and work effectively within a team
Comfortable working on the floor with patients for more than 50% of the workday
Ability to support the weight of patients, including large and giant breed dogs
Experience with positive training techniques, shaping behaviors, or an interest in further education in this area
Key Responsibilities
Obtain and review detailed patient histories from medical records and client interviews
Maintain accurate, detailed medical records and ensure clear communication with the veterinary team
Demonstrate therapeutic exercises and educate owners on home programs (PROM, massage, stretching)
Assign customized home exercise programs using our therapeutic software
Clean, stock, and maintain rehabilitation exam rooms, carts, and equipment
Clean and maintain the underwater treadmill and rehabilitation spaces
Promote a positive, supportive culture within the rehabilitation department and hospital
Communicate with referring veterinarians and clinics as needed
Create and present treatment estimates; manage billing and invoicing accurately
Assist with filling in-house medication and herbal prescriptions prior to discharge
Perform client follow-up calls for discharged or ongoing patients
Confidently answer client medical questions and review treatment plans
Build long-term relationships with clients, colleagues, and the community
Perform technical skills as appropriate (e.g., venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication administration, digital radiography, monitoring sedated patients) — a plus
