Your Opportunity
Our Design team of professionals work together to achieve the results that have lasting success in the communities we work in. This drive to achieve supports our client’s needs in engineering, procurement, construction management (EPCM) across the energy and resources industry. Our designs can be found in critical infrastructure like processing plants, terminals, refineries, and fuel storage facilities. Through our partnerships, industry experience, and use of technology, we develop innovative ways to solve emerging issues, meet regulations, and increase productivity.
We are currently seeking a Construction Field Supervisor-Energy to join our design team in the Dartmouth, NS office. The position will be full-time onsite during project construction activities.
Responsibilities:
Comply with Stantec's EH&S program, with a focus on safety in the field.
Provides input to and reviews field construction workflow processes and procedures.
Works closely with the owner, engineering team, and contractor in coordinating construction activities.
Responsible for monitoring the progress of construction activities ensuring safety, schedule and quality standards are met.
Communicates with and makes recommendations to Project Manager, design professionals, client, owner, developer, or contractor, but does not direct the means or methods of construction.
Provides the Project Manager with updates on project progress or delays to client, design professionals, and/or contractor.
Guiding projects through construction completion.
Ensuring that the clients’ needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Capability of overseeing projects from design to completion.
Self-motivated individual possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and can prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to work independently and demonstrated ability to manage projects and clients is essential.
Advanced knowledge in all relevant areas of construction and understanding of various construction methods.
Advanced knowledge of construction principles, techniques and procedures, occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Ability to effectively discuss project issues with contractors, project team, and clients, including ability to resolve conflict situations.
Ability to lead in a collaborative project team setting, engage in creative and critical thought and effectively communicate concepts and ideas to others.
Excellent organizational skills and understanding of task assignment and schedule.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Education / Experience:
- History of field construction supervision with 10+ years of experience.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
