Danville Local Schools will cover the cost of required bus driver training and certification for qualified candidates who commit to at least one year of employment.*
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Ohio Commercial Driver's License with school bus endorsement.
- Required to successfully pass a physical examination by a licensed physician in accordance with the law.
- Good driving record for three (3) years (no major convictions)
- Ability to work with students.
- Positive past work experience.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read and follow written directions.
- Shall be in good physical and mental health and be free of any major defects in sight, hearing, or mobility of person.
- Must have a favorable criminal record check.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
To transport students to and from school safely, efficiently and economically. Also, bus drivers should be
good examples to the community in driving and politeness.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential Functions may include, but are not limited to the following
Transport students to and from school on routes and time schedules assigned by the transportation coordinator.
Obey all traffic laws and also be knowledgeable of road conditions to maintain safety.
Maintain discipline on the bus and report any problems to coordinator and building principal
Perform daily maintenance checks on the bus including gas, oil, water, tires, safety equipment and general cleanup, mandatory pre-trip inspections requiring proper engine warm-up time and adequate cooling down time of the engine is required when the route is completed.
Report any mechanical difficulties to the transportation coordinator immediately.
Fill out all reports i.e., student registration, gas and mileage as assigned by the transportation coordinator.
Make every effort to be on time to work and on routes.
Keep the route sheet updated during the year, checking with the transportation coordinator about new students or loss of ot
