ATTENTION RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGISTS WITH SPECIALTY CERTIFICATION!!

The Danbury Hospital is growing its team of Rad Techs and seeks a PRN Rad Tech3 to join its team. To become a PRN employee of Nuvance/Northwell - Danbury Hospital - Shifts are Evening/Nights 12 hours Variable shifts, 3pm- -12:30am, Two shift per month minimum with one shift a weekend. This is a union role and PRN pay is based on full years experience ranging from $43.46 - 54.33 /hour plus shift differentials.

Summary:

Takes diagnostic radiographs of patients while maintaining patient safety.

Responsibilities:

  1. Introduce and greet patient.

  2. Responsible for the care and safety of patients.

  3. Instructs and prepares patient for xray & or fluoroscopic exam.

  4. Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions, & shields patient accordingly.

  5. Produce high quality xrays.

  6. Assists with training students and ancillary personnel.

  7. Interacts professionally with patients and family.

  8. Completes all work before clocking out and leaving.

  9. Attends annual hospital review (compliance) and departmental inservices meetings as scheduled.

  10. Practices medicine and surgical aseptic procedures.

  11. Is proficient in either mammography, operating room or another specialty modality.

  12. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

  13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT

Other Information:

Required: Continuing education, 24 CEU credits for license.

Minimum Experience: one year

Desired: Experience with patient care in a radiology setting. Specialty certification.

Working Conditions:

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational: Significant occupational risk

Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force

Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
