Summary You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the RANGE SYSTEMS ENGINEERING of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CTR CORONA DIV. Responsibilities You will meet Cybersecurity Workforce Certification and qualification requirements for Cyber Defense Analysis code (511). You will characterize and analyze network traffic to identify anomalous activity and potential threats to network resources. You will coordinate with enterprise-wide cyber defense staff to validate network alerts. You will document and escalate incidents (including event’s history, status, and potential impact for further action) that may cause ongoing and immediate impact to the environment. You will perform cyber defense trend analysis and reporting. You will perform event correlation using information gathered from a variety of sources within the enterprise to gain situational awareness and determine the effectiveness of an observed attack. You will use cyber defense tools for continual monitoring and analysis of system activity to identify malicious activity. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing network traffic to identify anomalous activity and report potential threats to network resources and cyber defense trends for an organization. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement.
