Position Summary:
We are seeking an Interim Controller to join a leading manufacturing organization serving the flooring industry with operations across the United States. This hands-on consulting role will support day-to-day accounting operations, year-end close, and audit readiness while partnering with senior finance leadership to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Essential Duties:
· Lead year-end close activities, including adjusting journal entries and adherence to reporting timelines.
· Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, variance analysis, and supporting schedules.
· Serve as primary finance lead for the year-end audit and coordinate timely audit support.
· Oversee daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger.
· Review account reconciliations and financial reports for accuracy and internal control compliance.
· Load, validate, and reconcile financial data within Sage financial and reporting systems.
· Identify process gaps and implement improvements to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
· 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting Manager roles.
· Proven experience managing year-end close processes, audit coordination, and financial reporting.
· Experience working in a hands-on accounting leadership role within manufacturing or related industries preferred.
Skills and Job-Specific Competencies:
· Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices.
· Experience with Sage financial systems or similar ERP platforms.
· Advanced Excel skills and financial analysis capabilities.
· Strong attention to detail and process-oriented mindset.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple deadlines.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
Travel Requirements: No travel will be required, unless at the client's discretion.

Salary Range: SolomonEdwards values your unique and individual experience and background. As such, we take a comprehensive approach when determining compensation for our roles. The compensation for this specific role is based on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to education, licensure and certifications, location, experience, and training. A reasonable estimate for the current hourly range for this role is $60 – 70.
