Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team in a dedicated partnership with the Technology division. In this role, you will serve as a key financial resource and business partner, responsible for driving the planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes that support the strategic and operational goals of the Technology organization. This role requires a strong blend of FP&A expertise and technical accounting knowledge to ensure financial integrity and informed decision-making across the division.

This position will support our Finance team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week. This position is based out of our North Dallas office in Dallas, TX.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Support the annual planning and budgeting processes for the Technology division, partnering closely with Technology leadership and department heads

  • Develop and maintain rolling financial forecasts, identifying variances against budget and prior forecasts with clear, actionable commentary

  • Build and maintain sophisticated financial models to support scenario planning, investment decisions, and strategic initiatives

  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for Technology division leadership and senior Finance management

Business Partnership

  • Serve as the primary Finance business partner to Technology division leaders, providing financial guidance on headcount planning, vendor contracts, capital investments, and project spend

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Procurement, HR, and other Finance team members to ensure alignment and accuracy

Accounting & Financial Integrity

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP) to ensure proper classification and treatment of Technology expenditures, including capitalization vs. expense analysis for internally developed software (ASC 350-40)

  • Partner with the Accounting team on month-end close activities, including accruals, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations related to Technology spend

  • Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for software licenses, SaaS contracts, hardware, depreciation, and amortization

Process Improvement

  • Identify and drive improvements to FP&A processes, tools, and reporting capabilities within the Technology division

  • Support the implementation or enhancement of financial systems and planning tools (e.g., Hyperion Planning, SAP, NetSuite)

  • Develop and maintain standardized templates, dashboards, and reporting frameworks to improve visibility and efficiency

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4 year college or university with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required, CPA and/or MBA is strongly preferred

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or a related finance role is required

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP), including experience with capitalized software, accruals, and cost classification

  • Demonstrated experience supporting technology, IT, or engineering organizations preferred

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite) and financial planning tools

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders

  • Ability and willingness to learn and adopt new technologies (e.g., Claude, Gemini, CoPilot)

  • Experience with BI and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)

  • Familiarity with cloud cost management and technology spend frameworks

  • Prior experience in a mid-to-large enterprise environment
