Cognizant Sr. Automation Test Engineer in Dallas, Texas
About the role
As a Senior Test Automation Engineer, you will make an impact by ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of airline loyalty and digital platforms through robust automation and testing strategies. You will be a valued member of the quality engineering team and work collaboratively with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions in an Agile environment.
In this role, you will:
• Develop and execute comprehensive test automation strategies to ensure high-quality software delivery within the airline loyalty domain.
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Java, Selenium, and RestAssured.
• Perform functional, regression, and integration testing to validate enhancements and prevent production issues.
• Execute and enhance API testing using RestAssured and Postman to ensure seamless system integrations.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive timely resolution.
• Maintain accurate test documentation, including test cases, test plans, and defect management in Azure DevOps (ADO).
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

What you need to have to be considered
• 6–8 years of experience in test automation with strong expertise in Java and Selenium.
• 5+ years of functional testing experience in the airline loyalty domain.
• Hands-on experience with API testing using RestAssured and Postman.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in test documentation, test planning, and defect management using Azure DevOps (ADO).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams.
These will help you stand out
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Exposure to modern testing best practices and automation optimization techniques.
• Ability to drive innovation in testing tools, processes, and methodologies.
• Experience mentoring junior QA engineers.
• Familiarity with industry standards and quality frameworks in the airline domain.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between [$53,477/- to $92,500/-] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
