Robert Half Senior Property Accountant in Dallas, Texas

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our team in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will oversee financial processes related to property accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements. This position requires someone with strong attention to detail who excels in reviewing financial records, resolving discrepancies, and providing leadership support to the accounting team. The firm allows a hybrid work schedule with some weeks 3 days in office and other weeks, 2 days in office.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain accrual-based general ledgers for assigned properties, including preparing and recording journal entries.

• Conduct research and resolve issues related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash receipts.

• Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Analyze monthly income statements and reconcile balance sheet accounts in accordance with reporting timelines.

• Oversee reconciliations of income statements and balance sheets completed by entry-level accountants.

• Perform monthly corporate credit card reconciliations and intercompany charge-out calculations.

• Record payroll journal entries on a biweekly basis and process corporate payables efficiently.

• Provide coaching and mentorship to accounting team members to enhance their performance and knowledge.

• Take on additional responsibilities related to accounting operations as needed.

Requirements • Strong expertise in property accounting practices.

• Proficiency in using Yardi software for accounting tasks and reporting.

• Solid understanding of month-end closing processes and accrual accounting.

• Demonstrated experience in managing general ledgers and financial reconciliations.

• Ability to analyze financial statements and resolve discrepancies effectively.

• Skilled in corporate payables and payroll journal entry recording.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills to support team collaboration.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
