You will design and deliver mechanical systems including HVAC, hydronic systems, ventilation, energy-efficient building systems, and controls. Project sector focus will be aligned with individual strengths and experience rather than tied to a single building type.

  • Perform and review heating and cooling load calculations, energy modeling, and system sizing

  • Size and specify HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping systems, and associated components

  • Coordinate design solutions with architectural teams and other engineering disciplines

  • Support project managers in planning workloads to meet schedules and budgets

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and EITs

  • Maintain organized project files, calculations, and technical documentation

  • Uphold quality assurance standards throughout all phases of design

  • Conduct or support site assessments, field investigations, and construction administration activities

  • Review submittals, RFIs, and support construction phase services

  • Prepare technical reports, design narratives, and documentation

  • Participate in client meetings and technical discussions

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred (or on path to PE licensure)

  • Strong working knowledge of applicable mechanical codes and standards (e.g., IMC, ASHRAE)

  • Proficiency with Revit for design development and construction documentation in a multidisciplinary A/E environment

  • Familiarity with mechanical design tools (e.g., HAP, TRACE, IES, or similar)

  • Strong understanding of HVAC system design, energy efficiency, and building systems integration

  • Demonstrated ability to lead design efforts and mentor junior staff

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution preferred

  • Minimum of 10+ years of relevant mechanical design experience in building systems

  • Experience in sectors such as Commercial, Higher Education, K-12, Science & Technology, or Workplace preferred
