How would you contribute?

This role is a contributing member of our Airlite - Dallas team, located in Dallas, TX (on-site). As a Quality Assurance Manager,

Manager has responsibility for all regulatory compliance programs as it pertains to food safety within the assigned manufacturing division. The role will have management responsibility for product quality improvements and help to reduce the business risk associated with food safety, HACCP and product quality issues. In addition, this role is responsible for supporting quality initiatives to assigned customer accounts which may include but is not limited to; specification generation, product testing, new product development process, determining root cause analysis and implementing proactive quality metrics

. This position has no direct reports;

however, this role includes working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.

Essential Duties:

- - Develop, maintain, validate and revise annually all regulatory compliance programs related to food safety. - Plan, organize, execute and evaluate activities related to the compliance programs related to food safety. - Ensure all food safety regulations are being followed within the assigned manufacturing division. - Ensure timely follow-up of non-conformities to food safety compliance programs by developing and putting in place realistic corrective action plans and follow-up audits. - Lead and provide the key interface for all third-party audits, including the recertification process for food safety compliance programs, regular audits by the Department of Agriculture as well as onsite customer audits. - Champion, coordinate and participate in the internal audit process, report audit findings and follow up on any needed corrective actions. - Provide regular and consistent training to assigned personnel to ensure comprehensive understanding of the compliance code and how and when to utilize the best control measures possible. - Support manufacturing, warehousing and building functions to ensure compliance with all assigned food safety compliance programs. - Maintain and review Airlites HACCP Program in the application and/or monitoring of critical controls to ensure critical control points are identified and proactive measures are in place to prevent undo risk and/or mitigate occurrences. - Maintain the system of document and record collection as it pertains to food safety compliance programs. Monitor, audit, and make improvements to this system as needed. - Communicate to management all major non-conformities of food safety compliance programs. - Research and stay informed/ proactive regarding new legislation, guidelines and food safety requirements to ensure Airlites programs remain up to date. - Initiate and organize external product testing as needed to ensure compliance with relevant regulations. - Lead continuous improvement projects that foster compliance with food safety and quality programs. - Support the CAR/PAR Committee by reviewing and driving root cause analysis and completion of corrective and preventative actions. Audit completed CARs and PARs and give recommendations by closing or conducting further action.

Collaborate with assigned team members to conduct quality audits on all warehouse and/or production items. - Approximately 10% travel is required. - Report food safety concerns to management. - Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Experience in working in an FDA/Food Packaging or regulated industry.

Experience with Project Management including Specification generation, Product Testing, following a New Product Development process and associated documentation.

Capability to solve complex problems, utilizing strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Superior organizational skills and the ability to assemble resources needed to orchestrate multiple projects/activities and accomplish goals.

Model a collaborative leadership style with the ability to build partnerships and influence others into action.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
