Actalent Production Manager in Dallas, Texas

The Production Manager oversees daily and weekly manufacturing operations for assigned production areas or product lines. This role ensures that production schedules, quality standards, and safety objectives are met safely, efficiently, and at the highest quality standards. The Production Manager serves as the link between the shop floor and plant leadership, coordinating resources, resolving daily issues, and driving accountability within the production teams. This role manages department supervisors and team leads, ensuring consistent execution of processes, effective workforce utilization, and adherence to company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily production operations to meet schedule, quality, and cost targets.

  • Supervise and coach Production Supervisors and Leads to ensure effective labor utilization and team performance, promoting accountability, consistency, and employee development.

  • Prioritize and schedule work orders in coordination with Production Control and Scheduling teams.

  • Monitor progress and adjust resources as necessary to maintain on-time delivery.

  • Resolve production problems in real-time, including equipment issues, material shortages, or design changes.

  • Maintain accurate visibility into production status, resource needs, and constraints.

  • Build and develop high-performing teams through coaching, training, and performance management.

  • Conduct daily shift meetings and weekly team reviews to communicate goals, progress, and priorities.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, respect, and collaboration among supervisors and production staff.

  • Enforce safety and quality policies consistently across all operations.

  • Track key performance indicators (output, efficiency, scrap, downtime) and implement corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to address recurring production issues and process nonconformances.

  • Lead 5S, Lean, and continuous improvement initiatives within assigned areas.

  • Support implementation of standard work, visual management, and daily management systems.

  • Partner with Supply Chain to ensure timely material availability and escalation of shortages.

  • Coordinate with Maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain equipment reliability.

  • Communicate status updates and production risks to the Plant Manager and Scheduling team.

  • Participate in daily production meetings, representing assigned areas and contributing to plant-wide problem solving.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Operations, Manufacturing, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, preferably ETO or job shop environments.

  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.

  • Experience managing multiple product lines, work centers, or shifts.

  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and production reporting tools.

  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing operations, production scheduling, leadership communication, troubleshooting, quality improvement, and manufacturing efficiencies.

  • Experience in metal fabrication and welding.

  • Experience managing production schedules.

  • Experience in hiring, terminations, coaching, and mentoring.

  • Experience in production efficiencies and quality improvements.

  • Experience with MRP and ERP systems.

  • Effective communication across multiple teams and leadership.

  • Experience in troubleshooting manufacturing processes, emergencies, safety, security, and equipment issues.

  • Knowledge in industrial manufacturing, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, pumping station, hydraulics, pneumatics, control panel, engineering to order, ETO, 5S, and lean manufacturing.

  • Manufacturing of pump stations, hydraulics, pneumatics, and/or control panels experience would be a plus.

  • Experience in an engineering to order environment preferred.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position requiring office work and visits to the manufacturing floor in the same facility for collaboration and troubleshooting purposes. Typical working hours are Monday to Friday from 1:30 PM to 11:30 PM. The facility operates two shifts: one with 200 people during the day and another with 30-40 people in the evening.

This is a Permanent position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
