Maintenance Technician

Shift

2nd Shift | 2:30 PM - 1:15 AM

Pay Range

$22.00 - $29.00 per hour, based on experience

General Purpose

Support manufacturing operations by ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of plant machinery and equipment. Perform preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, conveyor, and pneumatic systems while supporting safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Job Functions

\u2022 Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime

\u2022 Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and repair or replace defective components

\u2022 Install, adjust, and calibrate new or existing equipment to ensure proper operation

\u2022 Interpret mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics and blueprints

\u2022 Conduct testing and inspections to verify system efficiency and reliability

\u2022 Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment changes

\u2022 Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve equipment or process issues

\u2022 Support equipment upgrades, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives

\u2022 Train production employees on proper equipment use and basic troubleshooting

\u2022 Build custom parts as needed and safely operate forklifts and scissor lifts

\u2022 Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance parts, tools, and supplies

\u2022 Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

\u2022 Respond to on-call maintenance needs and perform other duties as assigned

Safe Work Requirements

\u2022 Wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, hard hats, and task-specific PPE

\u2022 Comply with all Smurfit WestRock safety policies, procedures, and employment guidelines

\u2022 Submit safety concerns, safety work orders, and incident reports as required

\u2022 Follow site leadership direction related to safety programs and task assignments

\u2022 Complete all assigned training within the Learning and Development system

\u2022 Understand and follow the STOP Work Process to ensure safety standards are met at all times

Qualifications

\u2022 Trade school or secondary education in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field, or five years of relevant experience in lieu of formal education

\u2022 Minimum of three years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience

\u2022 Working knowledge of AC/DC motors

\u2022 Ability to use measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, and micrometers

\u2022 Training in basic electrical and mechanical safety practices

\u2022 Experience using CMMS systems and basic Microsoft Office applications

\u2022 Knowledge of safe use of hand tools and small power tools

\u2022 Ability to pass color vision and color hue testing

\u2022 Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

\u2022 Ability to work on-call and overtime as needed

\u2022 Reliable attendance and punctuality

\u2022 Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
