Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic / Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance and repairs on manufacturing and electrical equipment and systems according to established procedures. This role troubleshoots and conducts root cause analyses of machine and system issues, using manuals, work orders, hand and power tools, and measuring instruments to complete tasks. The technician assembles, disassembles, replaces, and calibrates machinery and parts as needed to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This position operates on 12-hour shifts in a rotating schedule, with both day and night shifts available.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on manufacturing and electrical equipment and systems according to established procedures.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with automated industrial machinery, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
Work with motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3-phase power, communication devices, industrial and electronic controls, and power transmission systems.
Apply a strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems to maintain and repair related equipment.
Use a basic to intermediate understanding of PLCs to support troubleshooting and equipment functionality.
Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, and manuals to guide maintenance and repair activities.
Assemble, disassemble, replace, and calibrate machinery, components, and parts to ensure optimal performance.
Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments safely and effectively to complete maintenance tasks.
Document work performed through work orders and maintenance records, using computer systems and email as required.
Communicate clearly with supervisors, peers, and production staff regarding equipment status, issues, and repair timelines.
Work independently in a mature and professional manner, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
Support production operations by responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimizing downtime.
Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines while working around heavy industrial machinery and electrical systems.
Work daily and weekend overtime as needed to support production and maintenance requirements.
Operate equipment such as forklifts, as required, to support maintenance activities.
Collaborate with a team of maintenance employees to share knowledge, coordinate repairs, and support continuous improvement.
Essential Skills
1+ years of experience and/or equivalent maintenance mechanic training in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
2–3 years of electro-mechanical automation system installation and troubleshooting experience.
Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery, including motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3-phase power, communication devices, industrial and electronic controls, and power transmission systems.
Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Basic to intermediate understanding of PLCs.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
Computer literacy, including use of Microsoft Office software and email.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with 110V, 220V, and 480V electrical systems.
Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently.
Ability to work daily and weekend overtime as needed.
Ability to work independently in a mature and professional manner in an industrial environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience as a maintenance technician performing mechanical maintenance and repair.
Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems in an industrial setting.
Hands-on experience with 480V and 3-phase motors.
Welding experience in a maintenance or industrial environment.
Electrical maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
Forklift operation experience.
Corrugated manufacturing background is a plus, but not required.
Interest in cross-training and learning additional equipment and systems to support career progression.

Work Environment
This role operates in an industrial, non-climate-controlled environment with heavy industrial machinery and equipment. You will work on a team of approximately 15 other maintenance employees, collaborating closely while also performing independent work. The position follows a 12-hour (2-2-3) rotating schedule, with night shifts from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and day shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Personal protective equipment is required, including steel toe boots, and safety procedures are strictly followed due to the presence of high-voltage electrical systems, moving machinery, and material handling equipment such as forklifts. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with overtime, including weekends, often required to support operational needs.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
