POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance and Installation Specialist is responsible for installing commercial playground equipment and custom shade projects at job sites across the United States. This role requires frequent travel, hands-on installation work, and the ability to effectively communicate with internal teams and on-site partners.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Installation and Job Site Responsibilities

  • Travel nationwide to job sites to install playground and recreation equipment, including driving a company or rental vehicle to local sites and flying to more distant locations as needed.

  • Assemble and install structures using hand tools, power tools, and job site equipment (e.g., skid steers, boom lifts, telehandlers, mini excavators and more).

  • Read and follow installation layouts, drawings, and instructions.

  • Work independently or with a small crew to complete projects efficiently.

  • Load, unload, and organize materials and equipment on-site.

  • Maintain a clean and safe job site at all times.

Communication, Travel, and Administrative Responsibilities

  • Communicate regularly with supervisors and team members regarding project status, timelines, and any issues.

  • Manage personal travel logistics, including transportation, lodging, and scheduling.

  • Submit accurate and timely expense reports in accordance with company policies.

  • Use Microsoft Outlook and other basic Microsoft tools to manage communication and scheduling.

Quality, Compliance and Safety Responsibilities

  • Follow the LSI QMS (standardized work and documented procedures).

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable standards: ISO 9001 quality, 14001 environmental, customer requirements, and internal procedures.

  • Adhere to all safety procedures (including participating in safety audits, following machine guarding and lockout/tag out, proper lifting techniques, etc.), PPE requirements, and reporting incidents (including reporting near misses, incidents, and unsafe conditions immediately).

ATTRIBUTES

  • Read and understand schematics and blueprints

  • Ability to read basic blueprints and weld symbols

  • Ability to read a tape measure

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide (Lbs., Ft. Inch.)

  • Operating Vehicles, Mechanical Devices or Equipment

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Previous construction, installation, or related field experience required

  • Ability to safely operate heavy equipment, hand and power tools

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

  • Ability to drive a company or rental vehicle to local sites

  • Ability and willingness to travel overnight up to 50% of the time

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook

  • Self-directed with strong organizational and time management skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50–75 lbs

  • Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Outdoor job sites such as parks, schools, and recreational facilities

  • Travel-based role with overnight stays as needed

  • Work schedules may vary depending on weather, project timelines and location

  • Daily per diem provided for meals and incidental expenses while traveling

  • Flights, lodging, and rental vehicles are paid directly by the company (no out-of-pocket cost required)
