Robert Half Import Logistics Coordinator in Dallas, Texas

Description We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Import Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will oversee the coordination of imported food ingredients from international suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with customs and regulatory requirements. This position is essential to maintaining seamless operations in a fast-paced, high-volume logistics environment.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and warehouse partners.

• Ensure accurate and timely completion of customs filings and regulatory documentation before cargo arrival.

• Coordinate delivery orders with shipping lines, providing correct consignee and warehouse details.

• Manage logistics for customer deliveries by liaising with their planning and receiving teams.

• Monitor and track containers in transit, addressing delays or issues proactively.

• Communicate with trucking and drayage providers to confirm on-time pickups and deliveries.

• Resolve shipping challenges by working closely with steamship lines and carriers.

• Review and approve invoices from vendors such as customs brokers and freight partners, ensuring alignment with the accounting team.

• Maintain accurate shipment records, including detailed data on food ingredient specifications and batch numbers.

• Provide regular updates on shipment and purchase order statuses to customers and internal teams. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in import logistics, international shipping, or freight coordination, preferably in the food industry.

• Strong understanding of U.S. import procedures, customs clearance, and international freight practices.

• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage complex, high-volume data entry tasks.

• Proven ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment handling large volumes of shipments.

• Experience collaborating with customs brokers and third-party logistics providers.

• Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with global teams, vendors, and customers.

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

• Proficiency in logistics systems and Microsoft Excel.
