Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Document Control Specialist III to support complex infrastructure and capital improvement projects in Dallas, TX. This role serves as a key contributor to project delivery by managing document control processes, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and compliance across all project documentation within a structured, multi-stakeholder environment.
The Document Control Coordinator operates with increased autonomy and responsibility, supporting multiple project teams and coordinating document workflows across disciplines, contractors, and client stakeholders. This role is integral to maintaining data integrity, enabling efficient project execution, and ensuring alignment with client requirements, regulatory standards, and internal quality procedures.
This position is well-suited for a professional who has progressed beyond entry-level document control responsibilities and is capable of independently managing document systems, identifying process improvements, and supporting project teams in high-volume, deadline-driven environments.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain document control systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and accessibility of all project records
Coordinate the receipt, tracking, distribution, and filing of project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports
Monitor document workflows to ensure timely review, approval, and distribution in accordance with project requirements
Interface with project managers, engineers, contractors, and client stakeholders to facilitate document reviews and resolve discrepancies
Ensure all documentation complies with established naming conventions, version control standards, and audit requirements
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance document control efficiency and accuracy
Maintain logs and tracking systems for incoming and outgoing documents, ensuring full traceability
Support quality assurance and compliance initiatives by verifying document completeness and adherence to standards
Assist in preparing document control reports, status updates, and metrics for project leadership
Provide guidance to junior staff or project team members on document control procedures and best practices
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting document control functions on engineering, construction, or infrastructure projects
Familiarity with document management systems such as SharePoint, Aconex, Procore, or similar platforms
Experience working in regulated environments with established QA/QC and compliance requirements
Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple document workflows simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
Understanding of document lifecycle management, version control, and audit readiness

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $35 to $42.
