Job Summary
The Clinical and Sourcing Manager facilitates a system-wide value review/New Product Introduction (NPI) process. The goal is to provide high-quality, safe, patient-centered, and cost-effective products, services, and technology. This position provides clinical and strategic expertise to manage supply expenses while improving quality, safety, and satisfaction through clinical engagement. This role also serves as a facilitator and educator of the Value Review/NPI process.
Essential Functions of the Role
Provides leadership and manages projects for all NPI requests submitted through the new product request process for clinical products and equipment.
Establishes and follows a streamlined method to standardize and monitor products, services, and technology selection, use, and costs. Works strategically and tactically to identify, assess, conclude, and implement best practices and expense management initiatives. This relates to Medical Surgical, Pediatrics/NICU, ICU, Critical Care, Imaging, Infection Prevention, and Lab Products.
Review all new product introduction requests. Ensure requests follow current standards and contracts. Confirm the product is FDA approved and suitable for its intended purpose.
Facilitates and educates the NPI service line councils and subcommittee meetings. This includes clinical and financial analyses and execution parameters of requested new products. This facilitation requires prior research and assessment for review meetings. Clinician and physician engagement is key to influencing appropriate action.
Develops, designs, and executes product evaluations, including survey instruments. Manages result compilation and coordinates results presentation between Finance and Strategic Sourcing professionals.
Attend and assist specific service line committees and councils as requested by the Commodities Directors and Sourcing and Contract Managers.
Reviews product usage reports to identify opportunities for standardization, SKU reduction and contract compliance.
Keeps up with the latest clinical developments and advancements. Advises Supply Chain leadership on new trends and technologies that may affect sourcing strategies or have financial impacts.
Researches and advises on product substitutions in the event of prolonged product backorder or product recall.
Partners with Commodities Directors or Sourcing and Contract Managers to ensure there are no current contract obligations for comparable products.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
EXPERIENCE - 4 Years of Experience
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Registered Nurse (RN), Reg Respiratory Therapist (RRT): Must have one of the following:RN license orRRT license through the NBRC.
