Join our Americas Tax Technology Group (ATTG) as a Development Manager and lead the creation of innovative technology solutions that transform how our tax professionals deliver services. In this role, you will spearhead the end-to-end development of digital tools – from AI-powered analytics platforms to mobile and web applications – that streamline tax processes and deliver value to our clients. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams (tax domain experts, product owners, architects, and IT specialists) to translate complex business requirements into scalable, cloud-enabled technology products. This is a high-impact leadership position, ideal for a forward-looking engineering manager who combines technical excellence with strong product mindset and team leadership skills.
Your key responsibilities
Product Development: Lead the full software development lifecycle for tax tech products—design, build, test, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable solutions.
Technical Leadership: Guide architecture and design decisions aligned with enterprise standards. Collaborate with architects and InfoSec to ensure compliance and produce technical documentation.
Agile & DevOps: Drive Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and DevOps practices, including CI/CD, code reviews, automated testing, and 24/7 system reliability.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor cross-functional teams across locations. Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture and support team development.
Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with product owners and business leaders to align technical solutions with business goals. Communicate progress and challenges effectively.
Vendor & Budget Oversight: Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and budgets, ensuring quality and cost-effective delivery.
Innovation: Promote adoption of emerging technologies (AI/ML, cloud, automation). Lead initiatives to improve productivity, code quality, and system performance.
Skills and attributes for success
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
Ability to clearly articulate technical challenges and solutions, including those involving AI/ML components
Experience integrating AI/ML models or frameworks into the software development lifecycle (e.g., data preparation, model deployment, testing, and monitoring)
Proven ability to prioritize and manage team workloads in a fast-paced environment
Confident decision-maker with a focus on quality, innovation, and continuous improvement
Effective communicator and collaborator across technical, business, and data science teams
To qualify for the role, you must have
A bachelor’s in CS/Engineering (Master’s preferred). 10+ years in software development, 5+ in a leadership role.
Master’s degree in a technical field is preferred.
Experience in tax or finance tech, or ability to learn domain quickly.
Certifications (e.g., PMP, CSM) and familiarity with modern architectures (e.g., serverless, containers, observability, compliance standards).
Technical Skills: Expertise in large-scale systems, .NET, Azure, microservices, APIs, and responsive UI development.
Data & Cloud: Experience with data pipelines, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and data governance tools like Collibra and Informatica.
Agile & DevOps: Proven leadership in Agile/Lean environments. Hands-on with CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure-as-code.
Leadership & Communication: Strong team management, stakeholder engagement, and vendor coordination skills.
Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with proactive decision-making and prioritization in fast-paced settings.
Ideally you will have
Hands-on experience delivering AI/ML-enabled products or features, particularly in enterprise or data-rich environments
Familiarity with AI/ML tools and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Azure ML, Databricks) and their integration into CI/CD pipelines
A strong grasp of tax domain concepts, or the ability to learn them quickly
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
Experience working with senior leadership and influencing cross-functional teams
A passion for mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing teams
A collaborative, inclusive leadership style that fosters innovation and accountability
What we look for
Innovative, adaptable leader with a passion for mentoring and continuous improvement. Strong communicator who inspires teams and embraces emerging technologies to drive impact.
