Texas Instruments AI-Assisted Development Engineer | Smart Manufacturing & Automation in Dallas, Texas
Texas Instruments is seeking an innovative software development engineer who is a master of AI code generation platforms and tools. The AI-Assisted Development Enginee r is critical to accelerating our digital transformation through rapid development of quality and test solutions using cutting-edge AI-assisted development techniques. The position offers the opportunity to revolutionize how our Smart Manufacturing and Automation team builds software while establishing best practices and scaling AI-assisted development capabilities across the organization.
The ideal candidate is someone who doesn't just use AI coding tools—they're an expert who leverages platforms like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and emerging agentic frameworks to dramatically accelerate development while maintaining high quality standards. You'll be building solutions that directly impact manufacturing quality and test operations while helping transform how our entire team approaches software development.
Responsibilities include:
Development & Delivery
Rapidly develop and deploy applications, scripts, and automation solutions using AI code generation platforms (Claude, Copilot, Cursor, etc.)
Build solutions across the full stack including:
Data analytics dashboards and visualization tools
Process automation workflows and scripts
System integration solutions and APIs
Web applications and backend services
Test automation frameworks
Leverage Model Context Protocol (MCP) and agentic frameworks to create intelligent, autonomous solutions
Design and implement scalable agent ecosystems for automated operations
Maintain and enhance existing quality and test systems
AI-Assisted Development Leadership
Serve as the subject matter expert on AI-assisted development tools and techniques
Establish best practices, patterns, and standards for AI code generation across the team
Create and maintain prompt libraries, templates, and development accelerators
Build infrastructure for managing multiple AI agents and automated workflows
Evaluate and adopt emerging AI development tools and platforms
Knowledge Transfer & Scaling
Train and mentor team members on effective use of AI coding assistants
Develop training materials, workshops, and documentation
Share lessons learned and successful patterns across the organization
Foster a culture of AI-augmented development
Collaboration
Partner with Quality and Test teams to understand requirements and pain points
Work with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions
Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related engineering degree
5 years for full stack development experience without co-development tools
Advanced proficiency with AI code generation platforms and can showcase 2 years leveraging Co-Development and Agentic frameworks accelerating work
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and integration patterns
Experience building or working with agentic frameworks
Knowledge of prompt engineering and optimization techniques
Experience managing ecosystems of autonomous agents or automated workflows
Background in manufacturing, quality systems, or test automation (semiconductor industry a plus)
Track record of teaching and mentoring others on technical topics
Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns
Experience with API, microservices and system integration development
Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
Strong time management and project delivery skills
