Ford Motor Company has a proud manufacturing heritage in the UK, and Dagenham Engine Plant has been at the heart of Ford’s European operations since 1931. Today, it remains Ford’s sole diesel engine manufacturing facility in Europe, producing engines for vehicles supplied to domestic and global markets.
The Role
Ford Motor Company Limited is recruiting Production Operatives on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract to support manufacturing operations at Dagenham Engine Plant.
This role is part of ongoing operational demand and workforce planning. On‑site practical assessments will take place over the coming months as part of the selection process.
Previous manufacturing experience is not essential, as full training will be provided, although experience in a production or industrial environment would be beneficial.
What the Role Involves
As a Production Operative, you will:
Work on assembly and manufacturing tasks within a fast‑paced production environment
Carry out repetitive but highly important tasks to exact quality standards
Maintain focus, accuracy, and consistency throughout the shift
Follow Ford’s safety, quality, and operational procedures at all times
You must be able to stand for extended periods throughout the working day and be comfortable working in a physically demanding, on‑site manufacturing role.
Shift Pattern & Location Requirements
Multiple shift options available (subject to business requirements)
Role is fully site‑based at Dagenham Engine Plant
Candidates must be able to commute reliably to site
This position involves standing for long periods during each shift
