Monday-Thursday 5:30 am – 4:30 pm (Overtime is sometimes necessary and mandatory)
Overview
System One is hiring a Spray Painter, Assembly and Shipping/Metal Container Fabricator for a contract-to-hire position.
Responsibilities
Mix paints, enamels, or lacquers to specified colors, consistencies, and viscosities for spraying or brushing.
Prepare surfaces and apply a wide variety of coatings to obtain high grade finish on products.
Assist in clean-up of painting area, using scrapers and other cleaning materials.
Spray or brush paint as instructed and/or according to specifications.
Successfully complete the forklift certification process.
Use proper safety equipment including gloves, suits, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed safety shoes.
Load/unload trucks and prepare containers for painting.
Handle all tasks associated with final preparation prior to shipment, including scraping, wiping down, vacuuming, caulking, stenciling, gasketing lids, and various assembly of parts.
Climb in and out of tall steel containers, compactors, and other items; climb ladders, scaffolds, and stairways.
Work in environments with paints, lacquers, and similar chemicals, following safety protocols.
Requirements
Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally.
Knowledge of industrial spray-painting techniques and familiarity with SDS (Safety Data Sheets).
Must pass respirator physical annually and be respirator trained.
No facial hair interfering with respirator fit.
Ability to wear, clean, and store respirator equipment daily.
Wear proper safety gear such as Tyvek coveralls, respirators, hats, gloves, and steel-toed safety shoes.
Lift and carry approximately 75 pounds; able to walk and work in various positions.
Understand and comply with OSHA training and standards.
Able to climb in and out of tall steel containers, work on ladders, scaffolds, and stairways.
Physical ability to work with chemicals and in chemical environments.
Ability to follow directions and work in a team-oriented setting.
Availability to work required shifts and hours.
