Apple’s Core OS group is committed to building fully integrated operating systems that combine hardware, software, and apps into a polished Apple experience. The Performance EPM team is looking for an experienced Engineering Program Manager to lead highly cross-functional efforts delivering exceptional user experience across all Apple platforms. This position will require driving performance initiatives across various software and hardware focused features and engaging with engineering teams to evangelize best practices and pursue improvements.

This role requires an energetic and motivated individual with strong communication and organizational skills, as well as an ability to influence a large cross-functional decisions. Our environment cultivates process innovation, rapid product iteration, and a liberating amount of autonomy.

Description

We are looking for someone to drive, own, and ship all aspects of large, multi-functional efforts and feature areas. Partner with engineering teams throughout feature development from architecture, design, implementation, and validation. Proactively identify, prioritize, and drive resolution to program issues. Present and communicate new feature initiatives, top issues, risks, critical achievements to executive leadership. Own the roadmap, priorities, prioritization, timelines, for technologies. Help the team with ongoing improvements to the program management processes. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Marketing team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program management experience in software and hardware development

  • 5+ years of experience shipping customer-facing software and hardware features from concept through delivery

  • Strong understanding of and experience in managing complex, multi-functional software and hardware projects

  • Strong technical understanding of operating systems and how the various layers in the software stack fit together

Preferred Qualifications

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills to engineers, managers, and execs

  • Identifying risks, developing mitigation strategies, and facilitating resolutions

  • Excellent spoken and concise written communication

  • Ability to build relationships and influence others

  • Strong understanding of and experience in managing complex, multi-functional software programs

  • Sound technical foundation and a highly motivated self-starter
