We are expanding our team and looking for a driven, detail-oriented Software Quality Engineer to join us in Cupertino, CA.
What You'll Do
Execute manual and automated tests to validate software quality
Perform software integration testing and develop test automation solutions
Analyze test failures, identify root causes, and drive issues to resolution
Design and automate new tests to improve coverage and efficiency
Escalate and report key quality issues, ensuring timely resolution
Enhance and maintain automated tests that validate code and ML models
Build and maintain Test Automation CI/CD pipelines, including triaging and resolving pipeline issues
Collaborate regularly with cross-functional teams across different geographical regions
Communicate clearly and effectively in written and verbal English
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of professional experience as a Software Development Engineer or Software Quality Engineer
Expert programming and automation skills in one or more of the following: Python, Swift, Java , or comparable languages
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (preferred: TeamCity pipelines, including using Kotlin to create/modify pipelines)
Ability to independently own and drive tasks and projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Apple OS platforms , debugging, or profiling tools
Proven ability to analyze and identify root causes in multi-tiered, client-server environments
Experience testing server backend services at the API or protocol level
Proficiency with Git and source code management solutions
Familiarity with ML systems and methodologies for testing ML models
Previous experience working with LLMs and virtual assistants
Familiarity with AI tooling
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Curious, proactive, and eager to learn and explore
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $48.00 – $52.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
