Apple Production Security Designer - Worldwide Security Design in Culver City, California
Role Number: 200658225-0670
Summary
Do you instinctively know how and when to take action? Do you love performing under intense pressure? As part of our Global Security group, you’ll help manage the security needs of Apple’s most valuable assets: our people and innovations. Join us, and you’ll play a meaningful role in preserving the highest standard of security for one of the most-watched companies in the world.
This is a high-stakes, high-visibility role that sits at the intersection of protective intelligence, security, and creative operations. As a Production Security Designer, you will be the primary on-ground security authority responsible for protecting Apple's most sensitive unreleased technologies across film, photography, and creative productions worldwide. The role strikes a balance of operational discipline, low-signature execution, and creative problem-solving to enable filming without compromise.
Description
As a Production Security Designer, you will develop and execute security plans for Apple's film and photography productions in public and semi-public environments from pre-production through wrap. You will serve as the on-ground authority for asset protection, threat detection, and controlled execution in dynamic, multi-vendor environments without consistent infrastructure.
Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting rapid pre-production risk assessments (physical, technical, human) with incomplete data, conducting location tech scouts, deploying obfuscation techniques, and maintaining perimeter integrity without disrupting creative or production flow. You will lead on-set incident response (loss, exposure, confrontation, media compromise) and execute lockdown protocols during the filming of unreleased products.
You will also be responsible for the ongoing development of the Production Security Design policy — ensuring it reflects current threats, emerging technologies, and the operational realities of modern productions. As production environments increasingly incorporate AI tools, generative content platforms, and advanced manufacturing capabilities, you are responsible for identifying emerging threats and developing policies that address them — ensuring Apple's security posture remains ahead of the risk curve.
Minimum Qualifications
3-8 years of experience: Proven experience in military, intelligence, law enforcement, crisis/incident response, production security, or comparable operational environments requiring rapid collaboration and decision-making in uncertain circumstances.
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
Ability to travel up to 50% travel required. Travel includes domestic and international production locations, vendor sites, and tech scouts. On-location availability during active production periods is required.
Preferred Qualifications
TCCC / TECC or equivalent trauma response training with real-world application.
Prior experience working in or alongside film, photography, live events, or commercial production environments. Familiarity with production roles, workflows (camera, VFX, production hierarchy), and the operational pace of active sets is strongly preferred.
Exposure to product security, IP protection, or unreleased technology environments.
Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, data ownership principles, and the security risks associated with generative AI tools in creative production workflows.
Experience operating in globalized, multilingual business environments.
Bonus Qualifications
Assessment/audit experience in one or more of the following fields: physical security, information security, environmental health and safety, crisis management, risk management, supply chain, or logistics.
Experience designing and delivering professional training to large, diverse audiences.
PSP, CISSP, or equivalent professional certification.
Proficiency in one or more languages in addition to English.
