Job Summary

As a Production Supervisor, you will be the primary point of contact for production operators and provide direct guidance within area of responsibility. The Production Supervisor will oversee plant activities, delegate work assignments to ensure production standards and deadlines are safely and effectively met in the fulfillment of customer orders.

Essential Job Duties/Functions (Not all inclusive)

• Coordinate and direct the activities of the department to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality and promoting safety, plant housekeeping, and employee morale
• Spend at least 80% of the time on the production floor with team members conducting walkthroughs of the shop floor at least once per hour to ensure compliance with safety policies, high performance, and quality excellence
• Perform administrative duties at the end of every shift ensuring accurate completion of all paperwork including but not limited to production and downtime reports and any required incident reporting
• Drive daily production results and respond to changes in demand
• Lead, train, and develop team members by providing continuous coaching and feedback
• Under the direction of the manufacturing Leader, conduct required disciplinary actions for team members
• Participating in employment decisions including interviewing, promotions, and terminations
• Establish team and individual accountabilities for problem solving by assisting operators with trouble-shooting activities
• Perform 5S, safety, process, and quality audits
• Responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of asset quality, productivity, and other required metrics
• Resolve conflicts among team members and refer issues to higher authority when needed
• Communicating changes in business situations, production schedules, and company policies
• Conduct daily team meetings, such as handover and GO meetings
• Prepare or participate in safety and incident investigation and reporting when appropriate
• Actively participate in root cause analysis and Kaizen events as needed
• Serve as a resource in resolving customer complaints
• Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team for emergency responses, first aid/CPR/BBP, and other health and safety operations

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required

Work Experience

• Must have at least three (3) years manufacturing experience in a supervisory role

Required and Preferred Skills and Competencies

• Must be available to cover all shift schedules including midnight and evening shifts
• Good problem solving and decision-making abilities
• Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Generate results with general guidance from the manager
• Experience with manufacturing software systems
• Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement knowledge
• Exposure to systemcontrols such as ISO 140001

Work Environment

The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing environment that requires the use of personal protective equipment including safety-toed shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection. Manufacturing areas may be affected by outside temperatures and machining.

Must be able to lift 35 pounds in a safe and proper manner.
