Compensation: $141,250 +/- DOE

The Automation & Controls Engineering Manager is a key leadership role responsible for driving automation strategy, advancing manufacturing technology, and leading engineering initiatives that directly impact plant performance. This individual will shape the future of automation by developing scalable systems, integrating emerging technologies, and improving reliability, efficiency, and product quality across operations.
This role combines strategic vision with hands-on execution, leading a team of engineers while standardizing and deploying automation solutions across a high-volume production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Innovation
Define and execute the automation and controls roadmap aligned with long-term business goals
Identify and implement advanced technologies (IIoT, robotics, machine learning) to drive performance and scalability
Develop and present capital plans, business cases, and technology strategies to senior leadership
Automation Systems & Integration
Lead the design, standardization, and deployment of automation systems across production lines
Ensure seamless system integration, reliability, and cybersecurity across platforms
Drive modernization efforts and support large-scale transformation initiatives
Operational Impact
Partner with Operations, Engineering, IT, and Maintenance to solve complex production challenges
Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and commissioning activities
Improve uptime, throughput, and overall equipment performance through data-driven solutions
Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing automation and controls team
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
Serve as a technical expert and escalation point for complex engineering challenges
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in automation, controls, or system integration within manufacturing
2+ years of leadership experience
Hands-on experience with DCS, PLCs, or IIoT-connected systems
Strong technical problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred:
Lean or Six Sigma certification
Experience in food, beverage, or regulated manufacturing environments
Background in production, processing, or packaging automation

Pay Details: $100,000.00 to $141,250.00 per year
