Amazon Area Manager Jr in Cuautitlan Izcalli, Mexico
Description
Our Fulfillment Center in Cuautitlan Izcalli, MX is looking for a VMEX Manager Jr to supervise safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity of our department.
This entry-level role will work closely with Area Managers, process owners and business leaders to balance workload ensuring that the organization is operating on balanced and efficient shift while meeting all of your goals. The selected candidate will also support compliance guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for all associates, as well as to proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives.
Key job responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all safety policies and standards in the site
Conduct regular safety audits and Gemba walks to identify risks
Lead the daily 5-minute stand-up at shift start covering safety topics
Ensure associates follow safety protocols, including proper handling of knives for exceptions and correct use of personal protective equipment
Investigate and document safety incidents, implementing corrective actions
Monitor and improve key quality metrics
Provide real-time coaching based on Risk Signatures
Conduct quality audits and provide immediate feedback to associates
Implement and follow up on continuous improvement initiatives to optimize FaaST
Manage the Problem Solve process and quality escalations
Manage labor plan and resource allocation to meet daily throughput objectives
Monitor productivity metrics in real-time (every 2 hours) and adjust staffing distribution based on backlog
Optimize workflow between different dispositions (OB, IB, Vrets)
Identify and eliminate operational barriers impacting team productivity
Manage area readiness ensuring stations, equipment, and supplies are available

Basic Qualifications
1+ years of experience directly managing others experience
Work a rotating, flexible schedule, including nights, overnights, weekends and holidays. Able to work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required
High school diploma
1+ years of experience
Preferred Qualifications
Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
Experience working with computers and Microsoft Office products (including Outlook, Word, and Excel)
