HR Generalist – Job Opportunity
Location: Rhode Island
Employment Type: Contract
Reports To: HR Manager / HR Director
Hourly Rate: $18-$21
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced on-site and reliable HR Generalist to support daily human resources operations and help maintain a positive, compliant, and employee‑focused workplace. This role provides broad HR support, including onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, HRIS updates, compliance coordination, recruiting assistance, and general HR administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations
Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions regarding company policies, procedures, and HR programs.
Assist with conflict resolution, coaching, and policy interpretation.
Support investigations and document employee relations matters in accordance with company standards.
HR Operations & Administration
Maintain accuracy of employee records and HRIS data, including job changes, status updates, and documentation.
Prepare reports and trackers, and assist with internal and external audits as needed.
Engagement & Culture
Support HR initiatives such as performance management, training programs, wellness activities, and employee engagement events.
Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and best practices.
Qualifications
Experience
2–5 years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist or coordinator role.
Experience with HRIS systems (ADP, Workday, or UKG strongly preferred).
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of employment laws and HR practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail with strong organizational abilities.
Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
