Actalent Document Control Coordinator in Cranston, Rhode Island

Job Title: Document Control CoordinatorJob Description

The Document Control Coordinator will assist engineers with project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking. They will monitor deadlines and deliverables to support timely project completion and maintain and update engineering documentation, BOMs, specifications, and technical files. The role involves managing document control processes including revisions, approvals, and version tracking. The coordinator will administer engineering change requests and change orders using established workflows, ensuring documentation complies with ISO and internal quality standards. The role also involves facilitating effective communication between engineering and other internal departments to resolve issues and streamline processes. Additionally, the coordinator will assist with generating and tracking engineering KPI’s and performance metrics, record meeting minutes, follow up on assigned actions, and prepare regular project status reports and progress updates for management. The coordinator will also update and maintain ERP requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Engineers with project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking.

  • Monitor deadlines and deliverables to support timely project completion.

  • Maintain and update engineering documentation, BOMs, specifications, and technical files.

  • Manage document control processes including revisions, approvals, and version tracking.

  • Administer engineering change requests and change orders using established workflows.

  • Ensure documentation complies with ISO and internal quality standards.

  • Facilitate effective communication between engineering and other internal departments to resolve issues and streamline processes.

  • Assist with generating and tracking Engineering KPI’s and performance metrics.

  • Record meeting minutes, follow up on assigned actions, and prepare regular project status reports and progress updates for management.

  • Update and maintain ERP requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Document control expertise.

  • Experience with Engineering Change Orders (ECO), New Product Introduction (NPI), and routing.

  • Proficiency in using ERP systems.

  • Understanding of ISO, AS9100, and AS9102 standards.

  • Experience in electronics, cable, harness, and component industries.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems, such as SharePoint.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, or technical support environment.

  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and mechanical drawings.

  • Experience with New Product Introduction Processes.

  • Experience working with engineering drawings.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing environments and quality standards, such as ISO systems.

Work Environment

The work environment is a manufacturing setting. The company supports a variety of markets including defense, medical, and semiconductor, with a majority of products for the defense sector. It is a great company for engineering students from tech schools interested in electronics. The company specializes in cable assembly, wiring assembly, and PCB assembly, with most builds being boxes and power distributors.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cranston, RI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
