Position Summary
The Facility Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing hands-on maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of equipment, utilities, and facility systems in a regulated manufacturing environment. This position supports production and engineering operations by ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with cGMP, FDA, and OSHA requirements.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Technical trade certification or Associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or related field preferred
Minimum 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a regulated FDA manufacturing environment (pharma preferred)
Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting HVAC, boilers, chillers, compressed air, WFI, and clean steam systems
Working knowledge of cGMP, FDA, and OSHA compliance in a manufacturing setting
Experience using CMMS (e.g., B.M.R.A.M.) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, P&IDs, and SOPs
Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout and facility safety procedures
Physically able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and respond to urgent maintenance calls
Responsibilities
Equipment & Facility Maintenance
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing, utility, and facility systems
Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime
Maintain logs, records, and documentation for all maintenance activities
System Support & Compliance
Ensure maintenance activities meet cGMP, FDA, and safety standards
Support audits and inspections by maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
Verify calibration and functionality of tools and testing equipment
Cross-Functional Support
Collaborate with Production, QA/QC, and Engineering teams to support operational needs
Assist with new equipment installation, qualification, and continuous improvement projects
