MOFFAT COUNTY Facilities Custodial Building Maintenance Technician in Craig, Colorado

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs all duties related to maintaining the cleanliness of various county facilities, performs grounds keeping duties, operates a variety of tools/equipment and completes minor repairs as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED; and,
  • No prior experience or training is required; or,
  • Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Able to pass Colorado Background Check
  • Able to provide copy of current motor vehicle report, and current insurance upon request.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid Colorado driver's license or the ability to obtain one.

ESSENTIAL PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS: (All responsibilities may not be performed by all incumbents.)

  • Performs work involved in the cleaning and care of the County buildings and facilities required.
  • Collects trash inside and outside of the building; disposes of trash and recyclables.
  • Cleans and sanitizes restrooms, sweeps, mops floors, changes dispensers, stocks supply and disinfects all areas.
  • Vacuums and shampoos carpets and sweeps, mops, and/or buffs all floors.
  • Dusts all surfaces.
  • Replaces light bulbs; cleans light fixtures.
  • Cleans windows.
  • Performs all grounds maintenance functions at various locations, including: mowing and edging lawns, trimming trees and shrubbery; removing weeds; planting flowers, trees, etc.; raking and disposing of leaves; repairing sprinkler systems, fences, removing snow; removing trash and maintains water on all grounds.
  • May open offices/facilities.
  • Maintains equipment, including: repairing and replacing parts; washing and cleaning; and performing preventative maintenance functions on all county cleaning and grounds maintenance equipment.
  • Operates a variety of power and hand tools utilized in ground maintenance activities.
  • Laundry (Cleaning Cloths, or other various items if needed.)
  • Package handling to include mail pickup from post office for county, if needed.
  • Assists with performing a variety of skilled and semiskilled work in the maintenance and repair of County buildings and grounds, including: carpentry, painting, minor electric/plumbing and work on various systems.
  • Moves and arranges furniture and equipment as requested by department.
  • Completes daily work orders and maintains inventory, records and reports. 

IMPORTANT JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • May serve as backup for other positions within the department as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
