PDS Tech Commercial Quality Engineer in Coventry, Rhode Island

Schedule: Onsite | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Pay Rate: $65.00 – $80.00 per hour

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aviation industry to find an experienced Quality Engineer who is passionate about precision, compliance, and continuous improvement. In this role, you will be a key player on the shop floor—supporting engineering teams, ensuring adherence to rigorous quality standards, and helping maintain the integrity of aerospace products that demand nothing less than excellence.

Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining AS9100 standards and ensuring products meet the highest levels of safety and performance.

What You’ll Do

As a Quality Engineer, you’ll take on a dynamic and hands-on role that includes:

  • Supporting quality engineering with test and qualification instruction development

  • Coordinating testing resources, equipment, and internal/external testing activities

  • Maintaining accurate test records, documentation, and quality samples

  • Assisting in scheduling and supporting internal and external audits to ensure AS9100 compliance

  • Developing, tracking, and reporting quality metrics aligned with industry standards

  • Monitoring and following up on Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCAs)

  • Performing in-process and incoming inspections to ensure product quality

  • Conducting audits, maintaining document control procedures, and reviewing training documentation

  • Collaborating cross-functionally to drive quality improvements and resolve issues

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering field

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality engineering role

  • Strong knowledge of AS9100 standards and quality assurance practices

  • Experience with quality systems, documentation, and project coordination

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASQ Certification

  • Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (AS9100, ISO9001, etc.)

  • Background in transitioning QMS from R&D into production environments

  • Proven ability to write procedures, test reports, and technical documentation

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role requires working onsite in a manufacturing setting, including:

  • Wearing required PPE (including potential respiratory equipment)

  • Standing or sitting for extended periods

  • Lifting up to 25 lbs regularly

  • Working around machinery, chemicals, dust, and varying temperatures

  • Occasional domestic overnight travel

Pay Details: $65.00 to $80.00 per hour
